- Character Appearance; What sets Optim apart from the crowd is his dwarfism. Which means his arms and legs are short, he has a regular size body. As well as a larger head. This does have some physical side effects, such as a poor back, and easily dislocatable limbs. He hopes to fix them with auto-mail.
His clothes are long on him, since no self respecting 17 year old would wear children's clothes. He wears a long black coat, he always keeps it unbuttoned; on the back of the coat, the word. "God" is written in big yellow letters. Under the coat he wears a blue shirt, with a yellow lightning bolt on it. His pants are black shorts, but since he has short legs. There more like pants on him.
He carries his weapon on his back, it looks like a simple pole at first glance. But there is a Transmutation Circle at both ends of the pole. The pole itself is only 3ft long. Since it has to be short enough for the dwarf to carry. At one end of the pole,is a spike. Not very flashy or sharp. So you wouldn't notice it at first glance.

-Personality: Despite his size, Optim is a very loud and outgoing person. He always has to get his word in, and is almost always the first to talk in any type of situation. He sometimes refers himself in the third person, or in some cases even as god. The dwarf is big on flashy entrances and exits, and he'll go out of his way to pull them off.
His ultimate goal is to become strong enough to be considered a god. For what reason? So he can change the world. He hates the current situation of the world, and thinks only as a god can he change it. Although he doesn't actually know what needs changing, or how he'll change it. He just knows that this world is messed up.
He's cool with jokes about his height, as long as there actually funny. Optim makes fun himself sometimes in this manner. But NEVER...EVER...Call him a midget. He'll get pretty enraged and might punch you're face in if you do.
He's slightly different around girls he likes. Some girls can even get to calm down if he likes them enough. But most of the time he acts like his loud obnoxious self around them. Although he doesn't like it, he will still fight with a girl if he has to. But he might hesitate a little at first.

-Full History: Optim was born into a poor family. Which he didn't mind at all, in fact he barely noticed his status when he was growing up. But unfortunately, his other family were not so upbeat about their status. When Optim was 10 his mother killed himself, unable to take the social pressure of being poor. A year later his father took his life, he was unable to deal with two kids by himself. Funk left the house, to get away from everything that had happened to him, he wanted to search for his own happiness. But he never told Optim this.
So there he was...alone at the age of 11. Of course some people felt pity for the dwarf. So he was taken care of for a while. But it still confused him; what was wrong with this world? To make two people kill themselves, and one run away from home. He decided that he needed to change the world. The only person strong enough that would allow him to change the whole world, was god. So that's what he decided, that he would become god, and change this earth. Luckily he had learned some Alchemy in his spare time...and he had a lot of spare time. So he nearly perfected it, then he decided to join the army. To strengthen him physically as well as mentally, all to achieve his goal at becoming a god.



-Roleplay Sample: Godly training
With the pole on his back and determination in his heart. He decided to do some late night training, in a field outside of central. He set up five logs for target practice, with a devilish grin on his face he pulled out his pole. And shot out a bolt of lightning from the end, controlling it so it only protruded 3 feet from the pole itself, it resembled a scythe with a glowing blade.
He ran up to the leftmost log, and cleanly cut it in half. He then jumped to the second one and cut it into even smaller pieces then the first. He canceled the electric blade and instead pointed his pole at the remaining three logs. And fired a bolt of electricity from his staff. Which teared through all three logs. He began to laugh maniacally. "No measly log can live an attack by the great Optim."
He decided that he needed the whole city to know his presence. He pointed his rod at the sky, and began shouting something as it started to rain. "Do you hear me everyone, I future god Optim will change this world for the bet-" His speech was cut short as a bolt of lighting struck him and left him unconscious.
He woke up in a hospital bed and sighed, a nurse was in the world obviously furious with him. "Geez, someone like you should not do dangerous things like this. I'm surprised they even let you be a state alchemist. Geez." She stormed off to tell the doctor that the dwarf had woken up. But Optim decided that he wasn't sticking around to be barked at by people that thought they were greater then him. He jumped out the window and looked back for a second.
"That hospital is too small to hold someone as great as me in it!" He then bolted back to his house, hoping no one would catch him.

Okay, I'm going to have my mod-fairy look at this of course because she is very, very good at catching the mistakes. But as the admin there is something I would like looked at. Your character history is very nondescript and needs some attention for an OC application.

First: This one, I do believe, is the most important. Edward Elric is a child prodigy, the word prodigy means extraordinary. If every Tom, Dick, and Harry out there could master alchemy without proper training (even the amazing Roy Mustang was trained by a master) then he wouldn't be so special, would he? It is amazingly unlikely that a child, abandoned at the age of eleven, without even a proper school education would be able to master alchemy without extensive training from an expert. And, there is no way in the world he would be able to have "nearly perfected it" at the young age of seventeen.

Second: Abandoned at eleven? Even Edward was older when he left home, your character doesn't have to be excessively young to be interesting. You might want to look into that.


Third: You asked me the other day about State Alchemists yet here you only have the occupation labeled 'Military'. Are you meant to be simply an enlisted man or a State Alchemist? And again, if you are meant to be a State Alchemist your character is far too young. Edward is, again, a prodigy and the youngest State Alchemist ever. The youngest before him was Roy Mustang in his mid-twenties, also making him a rather rare example. It is very implausible that someone would have been accepted at the age of or younger than seventeen besides Ed Elric.

Fourth: And, last but not least, your character can not be god-like. This is clearly in the rules. Your character can be striving for a sort of perfection but is not able to be a god in any sense of the word.

My first word at this moment is....Christianity died centuries ago, it does NOT exist. Therefor God as you are claiming him is not worshiped. That is an archaic religion...you might bring up Lior, that was the SUN god. But the god or gods you are thinking of does not exist.

Like the above, child prodigies without masters is nearly impossible. EVEN Ed and Al had a teacher -points to Izumi-. Also spare time does not equal good at alchemy, some it takes years even centuries to grasps the basics. And thats even with a teacher. You might know the phrase, one is all and all is one. BUT does your character in character understand that moral. If not I would not suggest them for an alchemist.

I am not comfortable with having a midget on the site, sorta steals Eds fire. Also Ed is the shortest State Alchemist(for his age range, not to mention you want to give him automail).

There where extreme circumstances for Ed and Als acceptance to take the test. The incident with the train and the military official? So it is not likely. Also usually it takes years of experience and basically soul searching to get that far.

Also on another note, is your character religious, there are not many(well none really) alchemists that can believe in equivalent exchange and a higher power at the same time. (even if that higher power is going to be themselves)

Also the military would not except someone suffering his condition. Probably not even as a state alchemist. It would be kind of hard to send him on missions, he would be too short for just about all of the desks. He would not be able to drive cars, he would not be able to carry heavy loads. These are things that all(but the older higher ups) should be able to do.

Automail would be hard to make for someone of his stature and I dont think its very morally right to just cut off your limbs to replace them, seeing as it would take three years to heal. And for any character other then Ed and Ran Fan(unless I like the history of it) will have to have the three year recovery. The military would not wait that long.

Oh yeah I would also like to point out, Ed and Al are also so good because they saw something very important that enlightened them. This makes them who they are. Also no your character cant see it, that would be against the rules.
